The Olly Cooley Medal derives its name from the late Mr. Olly Cooley who umpired in 49 first class fixtures including 34 Sheffield Shield and 178 WACA First Grade matches between 1947-48 and 1960-61. Olly Cooley is regarded as one of Australia’s greatest cricket umpires and was known as a strong supporter of the Western Australian Cricket Umpires’ Association.
