WA has selected 14 players for the One-Day Cup matches at the WACA Ground against South Australia and Tasmania on Friday 18 September and Sunday 20 September respectively.
Ashton Turner will lead the side once again this season, as they look to atone for narrowly missing the Final of last season’s competition.
Having been named WA’s One-Day Cup Player of the Year in season 2025-26 following a breakout campaign, Joel Curtis is set to take the gloves against the Tigers.
Fellow top-order batters Sam Fanning and Cameron Bancroft also feature in the squad, likewise powerful veteran Hilton Cartwright, promising left-hander Jayden Goodwin and exciting all-rounder Will Malajczuk.
An exciting trio of young quicks in Mahli Beardman, Albert Esterhuysen and Jordan Quiggin are vying for an opportunity, with left-arm swing bowler Quiggin to make his ODC debut if selected in the starting side.
Fellow quicks Brody Couch, Liam Haskett and Tasmanian recruit Kieran Elliott round out the list of pace possibilities, while Ashton Agar offers an important spin-bowling option.
WA will be without Cooper Connolly, Cameron Green, Josh Inglis, Mitch Marsh, Corey Rocchiccioli and Jhye Richardson who are away on Australia and Australia A tours.
Fast bowler Lance Morris is unavailable for selection for the two games with a side strain, with a return to play to be determined in the short term.
WA finished fourth in last year’s ODC competition, despite finishing with four wins from their seven matches.
The side defeated South Australia by 66 runs in their lone meeting last season.
Tasmania defeated WA by three wickets in Hobart last October, before WA turned the tables on the Tigers at the WACA Ground to score a thrilling one-wicket win in February.
