WA pair bound for India

Allrounders Zed Hollick and Matthew Lough were included in the 16-player squad for the tour, which will feature matches at two venues in India.

The squad was selected by the Youth National Selection Panel and features some of the most promising young talent from across Australia.

The tour will feature three 50-over matches and two four-day matches against India Under 19s team in Rajkot and Ahmedabad.

A top to middle-order batter, who also bowls off-spin, Lough’s selection in the squad continues his stellar 12 months.

Lough captained the WA Under 17 side at last season’s National U17 Championship, where he was also named Player of the Tournament for his 326 runs and 11 wickets.

He was also one of two players from WA to feature at the Cricket Australia U19 Men’s Talent Camp in Adelaide earlier this year.

Hollick is no stranger to representing his country at U19 level, having featured in last season’s series in Queensland against India.

The squad will be led by Head Coach Tim Nielsen, who is currently overseeing the Cricket Australia XI program against Bangladesh in Darwin.
