WA duo Corey Rocchiccioli and Jayden Goodwin are set for a travel stint next month to take part in a Cricket Australia XI tour match and MRF Academy Program squad respectively.
Goodwin and Rocchiccioli named in representative squads
Rocchiccioli has been included in the CA XI squad to take on Bangladesh A in Darwin from Thursday 6 August, a week out from the NRMA Insurance Test Match between Australia and Bangladesh at the same venue.
Goodwin features in an emerging Australian squad that will head to Chennai at the start of the month to participate in the MRF Academy Program.
After touring with Australia A in India last year, Rocchiccioli is set to gain even more experience in the three-day encounter, where he could come up against players that will feature in the Test Match a week later.
Rocchiccioli will be joined by the likes of Sam Konstas, Josh Philippe and Kurtis Patterson in the squad, which will be coached by Tim Nielsen and supported by Steven Crook.
Play commences each day at 8:30am WST.
The MRF Academy Program will be led by former Australian captain Tim Paine and Anthony Clarke, with players set to get valuable development opportunities across the 13 days in Chennai.
The program will feature two multi-day matches, scheduled for 5-6 August and 10-11 August on spin friendly pitches.
The announcement of Rocchiccioli and Goodwin featuring in the representative squads follows allrounder Cameron Green and wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis being named in Australia’s squad for the Test Series against Bangladesh.
