Western Australians Cameron Green and Josh Inglis have been named in Australia's 13-player squad for the NRMA Insurance Test series against Bangladesh, the opening assignment in what shapes as an enormous 12 months for the national side.
Green, Inglis in First Test Squad of 2026-27
The two-match series against Bangladesh, who tour Australia for a Test series for the first time since 2003, kicks off the Top End Tests in Darwin from August 13, before the sides head to Mackay for the second Test from August 22.
Australia is then set for Tests in South Africa (from 9 October) and at home against New Zealand (9 December) before touring India (from 21 January).
It's a schedule that could feature as many as 21 Tests if Australia, currently ranked first, reach the World Test Championship Final in June.
Both allrounder Green and wicketkeeper-batter Inglis are in the frame for a spot in Australia's middle order following Usman Khawaja's retirement last summer.
For West Australian fans, next month's series is just the entrée for December, when the touring party sets its sights on Perth Stadium for the opening NRMA Insurance West Test against New Zealand starting 9 December. West Test tickets and WA Cricket Memberships are now on sale.
