Metropolitan Junior Community Cricket (MJCC) has wrapped up another vibrant home and away season across the Perth and Peel metropolitan regions, marking one of its strongest years to date.
Metropolitan Junior Community Cricket Wraps Up an Outstanding Home and Away Season
This season saw 70 clubs take part, fielding 896 teams and engaging 9,107 young players across all age groups and formats. The numbers reflect the continued growth of junior cricket in Western Australia and the strong community spirit on which the game is built.
The end of the season coincided with the 2025–26 Kookaburra WA Community Cricket Awards, held at the WACA Ground to celebrate the volunteers, clubs, coaches and administrators who make the game thrive.
Among the metropolitan honours, Bicton Junior Cricket Club (Len Pavy Junior Metropolitan Community Cricket Club of the Year), Kalamunda Cricket Club (Community Partnership of the Year and Senior Metropolitan Community Cricket Club of the Year), Joondalup Kinross Cricket Club (Inclusion and Diversity Award), and Coolbinia West Perth Junior Cricket Club (Growing Cricket for Women and Girls Award) were all recognised for their outstanding contributions across participation, inclusion and community engagement.
These achievements underline the tireless work of the parents, guardians, and volunteers who support players week after week, helping with coaching, umpiring, scoring and managing the many moving parts that bring the game to life. Their efforts ensure every participant enjoys a positive and meaningful cricket experience.
MJCC and WA Cricket extend their sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to another exceptional season, both on and off the field.
