Western Australia is set for a bumper international schedule next summer, with the Australian Men’s team to host two traditional rivals in white-ball and red-ball formats.
Fierce Rivals Headline Summer of Blockbusters in Perth
Cricket Australia today confirmed its international cricket schedule for season 2026-2027, which includes two blockbuster clashes at Perth Stadium:
- Friday 13 November 2026: Men’s ODI, Australia vs England, Perth Stadium, 11.30am
- Wednesday 9 December – Sunday 13 December 2026: NRMA Insurance Men’s Test Series West Test, Australia vs New Zealand, Perth Stadium, 10.20am
England returns to play a One-Day International in Perth for the first time since taking part in the first sporting event at Perth Stadium in 2018.
Having won the opening Test of NRMA Insurance Ashes Series in Perth last summer, Australia will look to start the One-Day International Series in winning fashion at the same venue.
Less than a month later, New Zealand’s men’s team returns to Perth for the first time in almost seven years to take on Australia’s men in the NRMA Insurance West Test at Perth Stadium.
As was the case in New Zealand’s last Test series on Australian soil in 2019-2020, Perth will open the series, with matches to follow in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.
Star locals Cameron Green, Josh Inglis and Jhye Richardson are among the stellar list of Western Australians vying to feature in the red-ball encounter.
The two fixtures in Perth form part of an international season like no other, which builds to a historic climax with the 150th Anniversary Test Match at the MCG celebrating cricket’s most storied rivalry, the enduring popularity of Test Cricket and the superstars from all nations who have elevated the game.
WA Cricket Chief Executive Officer John Stephenson said the fixtures gives WACA Members and local fans plenty to look forward to.
“WACA Members and Western Australian cricket fans have plenty to be excited about with today’s international fixture announcement, with two high-quality opponents set to take on the Australian men’s team," he said.
“We are thrilled to welcome New Zealand’s men’s side for the opening Test Match of the series, which is sure to be fiercely contested once again.
“We saw the colour and excitement the England men’s team and their supporters brought to the game last summer and we can’t wait for more of the same in the opening One-Day International this season.”
Cricket Australia CEO Todd Greenberg highlighted the exciting prospect of two marquee fixtures, starting with the highly anticipated West Test.
"The West Test has rapidly become a must-see event and we’re excited that the series against New Zealand will again begin at Perth Stadium," he said.
"England’s return for a One Day International will be another huge occasion with both teams continuing preparations for next year’s ICC Cricket World Cup 2027.
"We’re extremely grateful to the Western Australian Government and our broadcast, commercial and stadium partners for their support throughout what will be a memorable season."
