WA superstars Beth Mooney and Alana King on Sunday franked their standing as two of the country's best players, finishing second and third, respectively, in voting for the prestigious Belinda Clarke Medal.
Mooney, King finish top three in Belinda Clarke Award
Reigning Belinda Clarke medalist, Victoria allrounder Annabel Sutherland, took out the highest honour in Australian female cricket with 77 votes, standing alongside Mooney (74) and King (55) on the podium.
During the voting period, Mooney was the Player of the Series in Australia's visit to New Zealand in the 20-over format, where she amassed 166 runs at an average of 83 and strike rate of 167.
She also was a standout plater during the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup in India, celebrating a terrific century against Pakistan and finished as Australia's top-scorer.
King, meanwhile, showcased her importance in a highly formidable team.
The leg-spinner shone on the world stage during the voting period, taking a Women's World Cup record 7-18 against South Africa and finishing the tournament with 13 wickets at 17.38.
Mooney took out the T20 International Player of the Year award; the fourth time she has earned the honour since 2019.
