MARSH TO MAKE SHIELD RETURN

Australian white ball captain Mitch Marsh is set to make his first Sheffield Shield appearance of season 2025-26, when Western Australia takes on Victoria at the MCG starting Thursday 4 December.

Marsh played two Sheffield Shield matches for WA at the beginning of the 2024-25 season, prior to featuring in Australia’s successful Border-Gavaskar Trophy campaign against India.

The powerful right-hander has played two One-Day Cup matches for WA already this season, including the victory over Victoria at CitiPower Centre on Tuesday.

Marsh’s inclusion offsets the loss of talented allrounder Cooper Connolly, who played a starring role with the bat in WA’s most recent Sheffield Shield outing against South Australia.

WA has otherwise named the same squad that drew with South Australia in the day-night encounter late last month.

WA Squad for the Sheffield Shield clash with Victoria:
Sam Whiteman ©, Cameron Bancroft, Hilton Cartwright, Brody Couch, Joel Curtis, Albert Esterhuysen, Sam Fanning, Cameron Gannon, Jayden Goodwin, Aaron Hardie, Liam Haskett, Mitchell Marsh, Corey Rocchiccioli
