Belt Up Country Cup a Smashing Hit

The Belt Up Country Cup, a cornerstone of regional cricket in Western Australia, entered a new chapter in 2025.

WA Country Colts were crowned champions after going up against Busselton Margaret River in the final.

In a major evolution of the event, the competition has shifted from its traditional multi-week format to a fast-paced T20 weekend extravaganza, all taking place in Geraldton over the past weekend.

This new single-weekend structure is designed to bring high-energy, inclusive, and competitive cricket to the heart of WA’s country regions, showcasing the best talent from across the state in a festival-like atmosphere.

This exciting inclusion provides a crucial platform for emerging regional players to test their skills against experienced representative sides, while also catching the eye of selectors and talent scouts.

The men’s competition will also see strong representation from across WA’s cricketing regions, with teams from Geraldton Cricket Association, Busselton-Margaret River Cricket Association, Bunbury and Districts Cricket Associations, Wheatbelt (Combined) and West Pilbara Cricket Association.

In another significant step forward, the 2025 Belt Up Country Cup will also feature two hybrid women’s teams, selected via a nomination process.

This approach ensures broader regional representation and provides more women with the opportunity to compete at a higher level.

Proudly supported by Belt Up, this year’s Country Cup isn’t just about the cricket, it’s about connection.

It’s a celebration of regional WA’s love for the game, its depth of talent, and the strength of its cricketing communities.

WA Cricket would like to thank Insurance Commission of WA through their Belt Up partnership with WA Cricket, for their continued support.
