WA Cricket is proud to unveil the name and operator of its exciting new aquatic and health facility within the historic WACA Ground precinct.
Introducing The Pavilion: BlueFit to operate new Aquatic & Health Centre at the iconic WACA Ground
The centre will be known as The Pavilion - a world-first community hub where visitors can swim, train, and rejuvenate while enjoying unmatched views of elite sport in action.
BlueFit, a leading Australian operator of premium health clubs and aquatic centres – with over two decades of experience operating aquatic and leisure facilities nationwide has been appointed to manage The Pavilion.
From recently launching major new leisure facility developments like the $67M Oran Park Leisure Centre and $30M Salisbury Aquatic Centre, to managing dynamic local pools, health clubs, sports centres and health clubs, BlueFit’s extensive experience ensures the centre will deliver exceptional fitness, aquatic, and wellness experiences for all ages and fitness levels.
The Pavilion is unlike any other venue globally - it is the only aquatic and health centre where patrons can relax in the pool and watch cricket matches live.
The name The Pavilion pays homage to cricket’s rich heritage and the enduring spirit of community that has defined the WACA Ground for generations, since its first pavilion was established in 1895.
In the world of cricket, pavilion means summer house, and is a place of gathering where players prepare, fans celebrate, and stories unfold.
The name has been selected for its ability to honour the legacy of the WACA Ground while creating a space for new stories of wellness, transformation, and belonging.
Located in the heart of the iconic WACA Ground precinct, the centre celebrates the rich sporting heritage of this world-renowned venue while activating East Perth as a vibrant, year-round destination for health, fitness, and community connection.
The facility features modern swimming pools, a fully equipped gymnasium, group fitness studios, and wellness spaces designed to cater to beginners, families, elite athletes, and seniors alike.
A standout feature is the eye-catching splash park, crafted to attract tourists and families, making The Pavilion a dynamic place for both serious training and fun.
Beyond fitness, The Pavilion acts as a true community hub.
Visitors can work up a sweat, then unwind with a coffee from the nearby public café while watching their children play in adjacent playgrounds. This seamless blend of sport, wellness, and lifestyle supports WA Cricket’s vision to make the WACA Ground precinct accessible, vibrant, and inclusive for all.
The Pavilion is set to open during the upcoming cricket season, launching a host of new members benefits and programs including tailored offerings for WA Cricket Members.
Funded through a partnership between the Western Australian Government, Australian Government, City of Perth, WA Cricket, and Cricket Australia, this project is a key part of the $1.7 billion Perth City Deal, supporting the transformation of East Perth into a lively, accessible, and inclusive precinct that can be enjoyed by the community year-round.
