WA Cricket has launched a bold new initiative to champion the involvement of women and girls in cricket at every level – from the pitch to the boardroom – under the empowering new campaign, Her Way.
WA Cricket Launches Her Way Campaign
As a key priority area for WA Cricket, Her Way brings all programs, pathways and opportunities for women and girls under one clear and united banner, supporting their journey to play, coach, lead, umpire and volunteer, Her Way.
The campaign recognises the vital role women and girls play in the future sustainability of cricket and aims to foster a strong, supported and inclusive network from the grassroots level.
Through safe, welcoming, and community-led environments, Her Way will encourage more women and girls to engage in cricket and develop a lifelong love of the game.
Backed by significant investment, Her Way is supported by:
- Federal funding from the Australian Government's Play Our Way program;
- Grants through Cricket Australia's Growing Cricket for Girls Fund; and
- Generous contributions to WA Cricket Philanthropy.
Launching ahead of the 2025–26 season, the Her Way campaign will feature a dedicated WA Cricket webpage, downloadable resources for Clubs and associations, and a suite of promotional tools to help spread a consistent message across the state.
As a new strategic arm of WA Cricket’s participation and leadership programs, Her Way is built on the strong foundations of the WA Cricket brand and leverages the organisation’s track record in registrations, retention and community engagement.
The campaign will target:
- Increased female participation across playing, coaching, umpiring and volunteering;
- More women in leadership roles across the cricketing community;
- Expanded development of female coaches and officials;
- Greater visibility of role models and pathways for young girls.
WA Cricket believes everyone should have the opportunity to experience the joy and community of cricket, on their terms.
With Her Way, that opportunity is clearer and more accessible than ever.
