The Board of CricketWest, the governing body for Senior Community Cricket in Perth, recently met to renew its strategic objectives for season 2025-26 and beyond.
CricketWest Strategic Plan Renewed
Focused around five strategic pillars, Best Practice, Participation, Planning, Communication and Organisational Culture, the Strategic Plan sets out CricketWest’s priorities to support and grow its playing and volunteering base, while promoting the benefits of local cricket to the wider community.
CricketWest is a representation of the four affiliated senior metropolitan cricket competitions, Perth Swan Cricket Association, North Suburban Community Cricket Association, South Metropolitan Cricket Association, and WA Suburban Turf Cricket Association.
Guided by a purpose to strengthen senior community cricket by providing a united voice and sharing best practice in an inclusive environment, the strategic plan provides a clear direction for the board to facilitate the long-term development of the game.
CricketWest Chair Brad Pearce was positive about how the four local associations continue to come together for the betterment of cricket.
“The CricketWest Board continues to be a leader in local community sport through its commitment to long term strategy and providing a better experience for participants and volunteers alike," he said.
“Ensuring our associations and clubs are professionally run, inclusive and well resourced, but most importantly the volunteers running these clubs feel supported, is key to ensuring the security of our game.
“Improvements in club culture, local community relationships, and the growth of female cricket across clubs through the Perth Scorchers Women’s League are just some examples of the great work our previous strategic focus achieved.
“We recently had two clubs recognised nationally through the Cricket Australia Community Cricket Awards, which is great acknowledgement of the fantastic impact our local cricket clubs are having on their community. We hope to continue these achievements through our next strategic cycle.”
Clubs will be able to learn more about CricketWest’s Strategy at the annual Pre-Season Forum in August at the WACA Ground.
