Perth’s Optus Stadium was due to play host to the first ODI against the Kiwis on Sunday 30 January, but because of New Zealand’s border controls, quarantine requirements and the resulting uncertainty over when the squad would be able to return to New Zealand the full series will be postponed.

Cricket Australia (CA) and New Zealand Cricket (NZC) will discuss when the fixtures can be played.

WA Cricket CEO, Christina Matthews said;

“It’s been a tough season for cricket across the country, but it’s been particularly hard on the Members and fans here in WA and this is another disappointing outcome.

“Sport brings people together and the people of WA have missed out on some incredible international and domestic cricket this summer, but I can assure them that we will have many more world-class cricket events in the future.

“I want to thank our Members, Commercial Partners, fans and the WA cricket community for their patience and continued support during these challenging times.”
