The celebration held at the WACA Ground in early September saw 16 blind player presented with a commemorative cap by WA Men’s and Perth Scorchers player Aaron Hardie.

The caps were designed with the WA Blind Cricket Club heritage logo which was first established in 1972.

WA Blind Cricket Club President Adam Ridgwell said the event was a great opportunity for the cricketers to share stories and collectively look forward to the 50th summer of blind cricket.

“It was fantastic to have everyone together and celebrate the milestone, following a season that was heavily disrupted by COVID,” he said.

“It was great to reflect on how far blind cricket has come over the past five decades as we strive to be an inclusive sport.

“Thank you to the WACA Ground for hosting us and making this celebration one to remember.”
