Strong WA Representation In Australian Squads

Cooper Connolly, Cameron Green, Josh Inglis and Mitchell Marsh have all been included in Australia’s One-Day International squad to take on Zimbabwe and South Africa later this month.

Marsh makes his return to the ODI squad, having missed all six matches against Pakistan and Bangladesh earlier this year.

The 34-year-old will Captain the side in the three-match series against Zimbabwe starting Tuesday 15 September, before regular skipper Pat Cummins joins the squad for the series against South Africa starting nine days later.

Connolly’s most recent outing for Australia in the ODI format saw him notch his maiden international century against Bangladesh at Mirpur.

Green and Inglis also retain their place in the squad, which is set to use the matches against Zimbabwe and South Africa as important preparation for next year’s ICC Men’s World Cup.

Australia's tour of South Africa will also feature three Test Matches, starting Friday 9 October. 

Meanwhile, pace bowler Jhye Richardson and spinner Corey Rocchiccioli have been picked in Australia A's 15-man squad to face India A in two four-day matches at Puducherry.

Richardson made a cameo appearance for Australia during last summer’s NRMA Insurance Ashes Series.

The 29-year-old has since played seven First Class matches for WA and Yorkshire since then.

Fresh from taking eight wickets for a Cricket Australia XI against Bangladesh in Darwin, Rocchiccioli will get another chance to tour India with Australia A, having travelled their last year.

Newly appointed WA Sheffield Shield Captain Aaron Hardie and exciting young quick Mahli Beardman will also head to India for the 50-over component of Australia A’s tour, commencing Tuesday 6 October.
